What additional guidelines are provided in Phase 1?
The Guidelines & FAQ sections of the ShowMeStrong.MO.gov website provide a bit more guidance to individuals and businesses.  Below are some highlights from the State's website:

Individual Responsibility:
  • Individuals and employees should continue to practice good hygiene, including frequent hand washing and disinfection of frequently used items and surfaces.
  • Follow social distancing requirements in all areas -- indoors or outdoors.  The guidelines encourage residents to avoid socializing in groups that do not readily allow for social distancing and to minimize travel to the extent possible.
  • Residents should stay home if they are sick.
  • Common practices such as hand shaking should be avoided.
  • Elderly or otherwise vulnerable populations should minimize travel to the extent possible and avoid socializing in groups that do not readily allow for appropriate physical distancing.
  • Consider your own personal risk factors and determine the best course of action for yourself.
  • Citizens are encouraged to continue utilizing delivery services, such as grocery pick-up and/or delivery options, to minimize interaction between people.
  • Shoppers at all retail stores are encouraged, when possible, to limit the number of people shopping in stores to one person per household at any one time.  This will better enable all families to access necessary goods in grocery stores, and further reduce the number of individuals necessary to access such goods.
  • The continued use of drive-thru, pickup, or delivery options is encouraged.

Business guidance:
  • The social distancing requirements do not apply to individuals performing job duties that require contact with other people closer than six feet.  These businesses should develop and implement public health and safety measures for employees and patients, utilizing the ShowMeStrong.mo.gov website, in addition to any guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
  • Areas with public waiting rooms with congregate seating should consider implementing a system where customers/citizens can wait inside their vehicles prior to entering the business.  Pre-scheduled appointments are also encouraged to minimize interaction between people.
  • Practice social distancing within your business when possible.
  • Businesses should implement basic infection prevention measures informed by industry best practices.
