With the upcoming holiday season approaching, it is important to keep in mind the Coronavirus is still an ongoing epidemic. Many will understandably want to gather in large crowds and celebrate, but we need to remember this is still a “thing” and we cannot afford to disregard the risks associated with it.
Local health department and hospitals are urging the KC region to slow the spread. With the steadily increasing cases, regional hospitals have diminishing bed capacity, which not only affects the lives of COVID patients but also those in need of other types of care. It is often difficult to achieve balance; the need to remain vigilant about the virus and the need for normalcy. But until an effective vaccine against COVID-19 is available, we have to continue to do the sometimes tedious work of keeping ourselves safe and healthy:
Dropping your guard can still lead to infection, and worse, spreading the infection to friends and loved ones and those you come in contact with.
Let’s all do our part to protect ourselves, our loved ones and our community.
