Pleasant Hill Announces New Assistant City Administrator

The City of Pleasant Hill has approved the appointment of Nicole Wilson as Pleasant Hill's next Assistant City Administrator.

The City of Pleasant Hill has approved the appointment of Nicole Wilson as Pleasant Hill’s next Assistant City Administrator.

Wilson, who has more than 20 years of local government experience, comes to Pleasant Hill from the City of Odessa, Missouri. Wilson has previous experience with the City of Pleasant Hill. 

“I have always been impressed with Ms. Wilson’s professionalism. When I first served on the City Council, Nici was there to answer any question I had,” said Mayor John King. “She’s had some very unique experiences in Odessa. It’s nice to have her bring that experience back to her hometown.”

Upon hire, Wilson will oversee departments and projects focused on the operations and development of Pleasant Hill.  In this role, she will oversee the Development Services and Public Works Departments.

During her time in Odessa, Wilson oversaw major projects and organizational change.  She created a 5 year Capital Improvement Plan, implemented a fully automated meter information system, provided oversight for the project closeout on the construction of an $11-million-dollar wastewater treatment plant including the closure of all lagoons, and secured one quarter of a million dollars for sidewalk improvements.  She was able to successfully lead the City through the adversity of multiple natural disasters utilizing staff, consultants, and mutual aid from other entities.  One of her greatest accomplishments is the re-establishment of the Odessa Police Department and building the community’s trust in the department.  Ms. Wilson previously served in multiple roles for the City of Pleasant Hill including City Clerk, Utility Billing Clerk, and Cash Collections.

Wilson is currently a board member of the Missouri Public Utility Alliance, Missouri Joint Municipal Electric Utility Commission, and Missouri Association of Municipal Utilities.  She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Pioneer Trails Regional Planning Commission and also serves on the Transportation Advisory Council.  She is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Missouri Municipal League and maintains professional memberships in the Missouri City/County Managers Association and the International City/County Managers Association.  Additionally, Wilson is involved in many organizations in Pleasant Hill, primarily focused on her passion for youth livestock and sports in the community.  Wilson also sits on the Missouri State Fair Foundation Board of Directors.

“Returning to where it all began fills me with a significant amount of excitement and emotions.  I owe it to this organization for where I am today,” said Wilson.

Wilson will begin employment with the City of Pleasant Hill on October 17, 2022.
