Mission

The mission of the Pleasant Hill Parks and Recreation Department is to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of our community by promoting diversified leisure activities and high quality parks and facilities.  Whether it be leagues, lessons, or leisure; the department strives to make your recreation experiences memorable.

 

News & Announcements

The City of Pleasant Hill was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Missouri Department of Conservation in 2016 to inventory the trees on the City's properties (parks, right-of-ways, etc.).  Click here for the full press release!

The City of Pleasant Hill was awarded the TEAP Study Grant in April 2017 to update the Master Trial/Bikeway Plan.  The results of this study can be found here.  

 

Responsibilities

The Pleasant Hill Parks and Recreation Department is funded by a Park levy and Park/Storm Water sales tax.

The department oversees over 200 acres of park land including:

  • Cass County Fairgrounds
  • Children's Memorial Park
  • City Lake
  • City Park
  • Goppert Fitness Park (Hickory Hills Subdivision)
  • Nature Trail (Stone Creek Subdivision)
  • Recreation Complex (Baseball/Softball & Football Fields)
  • Rock Island Trail State Park (Katy Trail extension)
  • Soccer Complex
  • Swimming Pool
  • Veterans Memorial
