COVID-19 Return to Work

Return to Work

Many Pleasant Hill businesses have played a crucial role in mitigating the spread of COVID-19 by altering their operations or closing completely during the State of Missouri and Cass County Stay at Home Orders.

As part of Phase 1 of the State of Missouri's Show-Me Strong Recovery Plan, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services issued an Economic Reopening Order that will go into effect from 12:01 a.m., Monday, May 4, 2020, through Sunday, May 31, 2020.  No additional city or county orders are in place as of May 4.

We encourage every business operator and resident to read the order, as well as the guidelines and frequently asked questions for detailed information.  Each business operator and resident will need to make decisions that are best for themselves and their business.  As we begin to reopen the economy with the virus still present, it will be the responsibility of each of us to chart the path that makes the most sense based on our individual situation.

We have compiled a list of resources below that offer additional guidelines to keep yourself, your employees, and customers safe during the phased reopening process.  Many sector specific guidelines have also been developed by professional organizations to provide additional guidance to business operators.

The order directs local public health authorities (Cass County Health Department) to carry out and enforce provisions of the order.  Any questions that cannot be answered in the FAQ may be directed to the health department.
