FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, August 16, 2024 7 Highway Waterline Replacement Project

The City of Pleasant Hill is dedicated to making the necessary improvements to our water system and minimizing future water disruptions for our residents. We take great care in prioritizing and investing in infrastructure renewal and replacement for the growth and vitality of our City.

To prolong the life and increase the reliability of our water system, 4,800 lineal feet of waterline will be replaced along 7 Highway from Matthes Lane to Timber Street. At this time, the City has obtained construction approval from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and is in the preliminary permit approval process with MoDOT. Following MoDOT approval and solidified project plans, sealed bids from contractors will be collected for a set period of time. Upon review of the bids by the City staff and engineers, a contractor will be selected and work will be expected to begin shortly after.

The waterline replacement project will be funded by the previously voter approved $2M bond issue for water and sewer system improvements. Additional water infrastructure improvements will be funded through the voter approved Prop P3 - a $10M revenue bond for critical infrastructure improvements to our water and sewer systems.
